Peter Harvey dies
Veteran journalist Peter Harvey has passed away.
The long-serving Nine journalist had been suffering from pancreatic cancer.
Harvey was one of Australia’s best known journalists.He won a Walkley Award and during his time working in the UK was named reporter of the year.
He worked for Nine for more than 30 years, contributing to Nine News, Today and 60 Minutes.
Very, very sad news. He was one of the best – brilliant, committed, impartial, intelligent. There wasn’t a fledging hack in the country that didn’t look up to a guy like Harvey. Deepest condolences to the family.

I am very sad to have discovered this news. He was a welcome part of the journalistic scene, one of the Doric columns of the fourth estate.
In my memory, he will always remain, the Basso Profundo from Canberra.
