Phil Nobay exits Ogilvy Brisbane as ECD

Ogilvy Brisbane’s executive creative director, Phil Nobay, has exited the agency, Mumbrella can reveal.

Nobay, who was in the role for just over two years, departed the agency to “pursue other opportunities” and return to his consultancy, Philler.

David Fox, CEO Ogilvy Australia, said in a statement to Mumbrella: “Nobay had made a valuable contribution to the Brisbane office during a period of growth”.

Fox wished the creative well and said a search for his replacement is underway.

“After two years at Ogilvy, I’m excited to be returning to focus on my creative consultancy, Philler, which I launched back in 2011.

“I’ve teamed up with shining stars in brand strategy and content creation, to partner with clients that value the more agile consulting model. I leave Ogilvy on good terms and wish them the best of luck,” Nobay said in a statement to Mumbrella.

In the meantime, creative director Rob Morrison will act as executive creative director while the agency also uses talent from throughout the Ogilvy network.

Nobay joined the agency in 2016 from Publicis where he was a creative director for more than three years.

Meanwhile, in May last year, Ogilvy Brisbane appointed Ben Lightfoot as its managing director.
