Podcast Network in funding crisis

cameron-reillyTroubled Australian-based The Podcast Network has launched an appeal to its users because it is facing a “funding crisis”.

In a blog posting published this morning, founder Cameron Reilly tells supporters: “I’ve just been hit with a large hosting bill for TPN’s servers and bandwidth and unfortunately I don’t have the funds to cover it this month.”

Reilly is among Australia’s best known podcasters, and his show G’Day World was Australia’s first podcast.

The Podcast Network – which produces nearly 100 shows and claims a global audience of half a million a month – suffered a major blow in December when its Texas-based servers suffered a crash and lost a lot of data. TPN was also previously hit by hackers.
