Poor night for Ten, The Renovators beaten by Top Gear
Not a single Network Ten program came close to 1m viewers in the Tuesday night ratings, with Modern Family its biggest hitting show – with 858,000.
In a sign of how bad things have come for The Renovators, the Ten show was beaten by Nine’s Top Gear. The home improvement show, which improved its ratings compared to Monday night, pulled in just 710,000.
Seven’s Winners & Losers won The Renovator’s 8.30pm timeslot with 1.274m. But Nine’s The Block, which aired at 7pm, won the night with an audience of 1.391m, according to preliminary overnight ratings from OzTam.
It was another close-run tussle at breakfast, with Sunrise beating Today by 21,000 viewers.
So is there a plan B for The Renovators? How about just pulling the plug?
The thing with the Renovators, as with all these other specialty shows, is that when I get home from a hard day’s work, it feels like work all over again having to watch them meet the terrible deadlines the producers keep setting. Does it really have to be all that stressful??
If the Renovators is being beaten by Top gear then it really is in trouble.
Top gear has become so long in the tooth it should really be referred to as “Walrus”
Clarkson is surely the most over paid one trick pony on Television these days.
Then again Magda Szubanski has managed to score another gig so it just shows that having no personality or talent is a sure fire hit for success on Australian TV.
