Press agency AFP appoints David Millikin to lead Sydney bureau

International news agency Agence France-Presse has appointed David Millikin to head its Sydney bureau.

Millikin originally joined AFP in 1983 as an editor in Hong Kong before he moved to the English desk in Paris one year later, and then to Washington for four years.

In 1999 he moved back to Paris working as deputy english desk chief and carrying out the same role in Jerusalem before being appointed Sydney bureau chief in 2002 and then state department correspondent.
