Press Council clears reporting on press reporting

The Australian Press Council has been looking into a complaint about The Courier Mail’s reporting on… the regulation of the press and more specifically the journalists’ union.

The media watchdog was asked to adjudicate a complaint about an article in the News Limited paper about the journos’ union the Media, Entertainment & Arts Alliance.

The complainant was unhappy that a description of the MEAA system as including “industry experts” when in fact they were all journalists, so it wasn’t independent.
