Radio National cuts back on breakfast in 2026
Sally Sara will start at 6am instead of 5.30am in 2026
The ABC is letting Radio National Breakfast host Sally Sara sleep in for an extra half-hour each morning in 2026, as it cuts back its live breakfast broadcast to three hours.
National Breakfast with Sally Sara will shift to a 6am start, from next month. News coverage on RN will still begin at 5.30am, with highlights from Fran Kelly’s 6pm bulletin from the prior day, and stories from the ABC News Daily podcast.
This is one of a number of changes to the Radio National schedule, which will also see Saturday morning foreign affairs program Global Roaming expanded into a daily show.
