Radio ratings: Syd – Kiis FM slips; Melb – Gold still #1; Perth – Mix 94.5 wins battle with Nova; Bris – Hamish and Andy retake #1 one in Drive
Sydney: Kyle and Jackie O slip for Kiis FM; real concerns for 2Day FM’s Rove and Sam Frost
Kyle and Jackie O have lost their hold on #2 spot in Sydney’s overall breakfast market – overtaken by ABC 702 talkback host Robbie Buck as the pair lost 1.2% to slip to a share of 11.3%.
While the duo retained top spot in the FM charts, the result pushed them to third in the overall breakfast ratings, behind 2GB and Alan Jones, who lost 0.7% to 15.3%, and the ABC which rose 0.9% under Buck.
Mark Colvin I don’t think presents a drive show in Adelaide. He presents PM nationally on RN at 5.05, and ABC local at 6.05.
Hi Tony,
You are quite right – it’s actually Ian Henschke who presents the drive program. I’ve fixed that up.
Thanks,
Miranda – Mumbrella
JB and Billy are also only a 1 hr highlights package on MMM Adelaide. Louie and Jars do 4-6 locally, and deserve the credit for the ratings here.
Hit 105 in Brisbane did pretty well in breakfast, presumably due to addition of Osher Gunsberg to the Stav and Abby team.
Why do you rabbit on in Syd, Mel & Adel markets about FM stations being leaders when in these markets the top stations are AM. AM or FM – they are radio stations regardless of what medium and if AM beat FM that means they won!!!
Triple J number 1 in mornings on the FM bans in Sydney – probably worth a mention?
So to sum it up 2DayFM had the audacity to think they could build a credible Top 40 radio station without Kyle and Jackie O. And so did KIIS in Melbourne.
That anyone has an intellect so lacking that they can listen to most of this crap is beyond me. Catering for the lowest common denominator is still a profitable business.
@ D. John Carlson.
Could you please clarify one thing. Which crap are you referring to – your superiority-laden post, or radio?
