Sydney: 2GB posts lowest share in nearly a decade as Smooth loses top spot in FM heap
2GB posted its lowest Monday to Friday audience share of the year for survey 8 after claiming their 100th consecutive win in the previous survey.
The talkback station posted a share of 11.3%, down 1.7 share points from 13%. The share is 2GB’s lowest share since the Macquarie Radio Network merger with Fairfax Radio Network. It is believed to be 2GB’s lowest share in nearly a decade.
Ed Kavalee has his own show with Triple M Brisbane, not with Hughsey and Kate on Nova.
And Hughsey and Kate are on KIIS now – not Nova. Time to update your image library Mumbrella.
Thanks Steve and Anonymous – you are both right and we have updated the image.
Cheers,

The trouble for 2GB is that every presenter’s shift is sounding the same. All broadcast similar views, many callers sound familiar and generally everybody at both ends of the phone is moaning about life. (24/7). However, the nightly business program is pretty good.
Why are there no radio ratings survey table for Brisbane?
Hi Ann,
Apologies, they were left out as an oversight and are now in the story.

No mention of 2UE? No surprise at the results, the rebrand and change in format has done exactly what I thought. The comments on this website alone showed how unpopular the change was. Even 2GB suffered…..where did the listeners go?
I was not surprised with the drop in the 2UE ratings. I was an avid listener but switched off most of their programs when they moved from ‘presenters’ to ‘sponsored advertorials’. It’s quite embarrassing that they scored under 2% for their drive-time slot.
Most of my listening has moved to 2SM. I believe they refuse to pay to have their data included, so I wonder if a lot of other listeners have moved with me.
People in Sydney should appreciate 2gb in Melbourne we have lefties ABC and Fairfax 3aw. Bring 2gb to melbourne
MTR, look how that ended. AW doing just fine.
