Radio ratings: Who got their programming changes right?

This morning, radio executives around the country received the final radio ratings results for 2025, covering November 9 to December 13 in the capital city markets.
This marks the first time that the final book of 2025 is delivered in 2026. These results either confirm the wisdom of various programming switches made towards the end of the year — or leave executives wondering if changes were made too hastily. Let’s look at some of the bigger lineup changes.
SYDNEY
Listeners of Gold’s long-serving breakfast team Jonesy and Amanda farewelled the pair from the show they’ve been hosting for two decades. The team climbed 0.8 points in their final survey in the timeslot; they’ve moved to Gold’s national drive slot. Hopefully their listeners will follow them there. Steve Fitten, who had hosted the drive slot on Gold for the past eight years, also climbed 0.7 points in his final survey.
Christian O’Connell — who is taking over Gold’s breakfast across Sydney, Adelaide, Perth (whose 96FM rebranded to Gold this year), and the newly minted Gold DAB+ station in Brisbane — dropped a modest 0.2 points in his hometown of Melbourne. It’s best not to take this as an omen of any sort.
