RBI Australia on the block
The local arm of one of Australia’s largest business-to-business publishers, Reed Business Information, is for sale.
The company, based in Chatswood in NSW, publishes industry magazines including advertising title B&T, Australian Doctor, Money Management, Travel Weekly and online directory Hot Frog.
B&T reports that Jeremy Knibbs, CEO of RBI Australia, said: “The business has been transformed over the last decade, embracing the opportunities of web-based advertising services and delivering strong growth in revenues and margin. RBI has been a good parent to us and we look forward under new ownership to build on the business’ success in developing profitable multi-media advertising models.”
Parent company Reed Elsevier put RBI up for sale globally four years ago but failed to find a buyer as the GFC struck.
Tim – I think you’ll find that the global RBI business (including Australian arm) was put up for sale a few years ago by Reed Elsevier and subsequently failed to sell. Pretty sure that the parent company, Reed Elsevier, was never for sale…
You’re completely right., The Dog. As I worked there at the time, it’s surprising how soon you forget… story now amended.
Cheers,
Tim – Mumbrella
Tim , you should make a play for it.
