‘Red October’ fears confirmed as media agency spend plummets
Bad feeling about this: But October could come back after late bookings are counted
Australia’s advertising market had a grim showing in October, with total spend down 14.7% year-on-year and almost every channel in the red.
Data from Guideline SMI, which tracks media agency bookings, painted a stark picture of a market in retreat.
As with previous months, the number is expected to rise somewhat in coming months as late bookings for the period are processed.
