Rhonda goes viral
AAMI’s Rhonda appears to have struck something of a chord with the public.
First, she was the choice of Big W staff when it came to making their own ads.
Now she’s got a Facebook fan page all of her own, dedicated to her holiday in Bali.
You can never go wrong tapping into the bogan zeitgeist.
I’ve always wondered how high Rhonda’s insurance premiums are with AAMI that with a 15% discount she can now afford to go on a tropical holiday?
Let’s do the sums then.
Rhonda’s a classic bogan, so she’d probably be buying a shedload of ciggies and coke from the supermarket. She’d have a flybuys card for sure, and that’d probably allow her to accrue enough points to get her to Bali on Jetstar, the travelling bogan’s airline of choice.
Once in Bali, she’d split a room with 3 of her friends, which wouldn’t cost much at all. She’s an Aussie, so she wouldn’t tip. She’d load up at the buffet breakfast, and not eat until dinner. She’d drink as cheaply as possible, see nothing of the island except the bottom of a Bintang bottle, and haggle with street vendors, beating them down from $3 to $1.50 on whatever cheap crap she wants to buy.
I’d say a 15% saving on her insurance over 5 years might just do the trick.

What snobs!! I don’t see Rhonda as a bogan, more a lonely woman on holiday on her own, liking the look of Katut! – amazing how some people always manage to look down their noses from their very high horses….
