Riminton back on the beat as Ten restructures news bulletins
Ten’s Walkley Award winning newsman Hugh Riminton is back on the beat after a newsdesk restructure which will see the 5pm bulletins in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane presented by a single newsreader.
Riminton, who joined Ten in 2009 as senior political correspondent before rising to become co-presenter of the bulletin with Sandra Sully in Sydney, will assume a senior reporter role specialising in political and foreign coverage as well as special investigations.
Working with Ten reporter Matt Moran, Riminton was responsible for Ten’s last Walkley Award win for excellence in journalism in 2011 when they exposed the Australian Defence Force Skype scandal.

This is the start of Ten cutting back news expenditure in preparation for Foxtel taking over the network and Ten’s news bulletins being produced by Sky News.
Nana sully taught armytage the ropes
Ah, but who taught Sully?
Ron – I think you have it in one. Full review of expenditure – cost cuts and no one is spared.
How many times does Sully make mistakes reading her autocue?
I find her hard to watch when I am on guard waiting for her next slip…
