Royal visit? Women’s Weekly won’t be holding the front page

Prince William faces being banished from the pages of Australia’s best selling magazine because he declined to give any media interviews during his visit.  

Helen McCabe, editor-in-chief of Australian Women’s Weekly, says that by failing to talk to the press, Australia’s potential future king has left monthly mags with little to write about his visit.

Writing in The Australian, McCabe said: “As I write there are no plans to do anything on the visit at all.” She added:

“The Prince has turned down all requests for media interviews. One way to generate interest in the visit would have been to allow the Prince to talk to the media about what he would do if, or when, he becomes king of Australia. But despite our pleas, Buckingham Palace politely turned down every one of our requests.
