Rupert Murdoch tops the 2013 Encore E List of the industry’s 200 most powerful
Mumbrella’s sister publication Encore today reveals its annual E List, a list of the 200 most powerful media, marketing and entertainment players.
In it’s second year, Encore’s E List has been compiled using a panel of industry experts to determine the order of the list. In the past 12 months, some big names have dropped off the list allowing others to move up while there are some interesting new additions.
Topping the list is Rupert Murdoch, one of the few non-Australian residents to make it onto the 2013 E List. Murdoch earned first place on account of the power he has exercised in the past year including unseating last year’s number one E Lister Kim Williams.
The E List top 10
I am dismayed that once again I have been left off this top 200. I may not have Murdoch’s money or Turnbull’s political clout but to the Under 9’s Girls North Shore Softball League I am a serious media player. Without my media know-how there’d be no monthly newsletter, no league ladder and definitely no ‘Hardball/Softball’ discussion column (similar to SMH’s Heckler but with more of a focus on softball). I’m prepared to give you one more year, Encore, but after that I may have to consider my free subscription.
Fairfax is doing good things, the people there are working hard and delivering a new business. Great to see Mumbrella acknowledging Greg Hywood.
