Sami Lukis and Yumi Stynes to start on Mix106.5 on Tuesday
Sydney’s Mix 106.5 will finally put its new breakfast duo of Sami Lukis and Yumi Stynes on air this Tuesday – nine days after the first official radio ratings period of 2013 began.
The duo – Sydney’s first all-female FM breakfast team – were named for the slot by station by owner Australian Radio Network at the end of last year. The move came after the previous lineup split with Claire Hooper leaving the station and Tim Ross moving to national drivetime.
Mumbrella understand that the pair, who have not previously worked together, have been in off air rehearsals as they work to build up chemistry.
I’m bored already! Is this the best they can do? Two more jibberers on breakfast radio? Please!
You’ve got to give it to Lukis, however. She’s had more come failed comebacks than Kevin Rudd…
Does anyone know yet who will be hosting the Mix breakfast show in 2014?
I believe the accounts department at ARN are still working out severance payments for Todd McKenney, Sonia Kruger, Andrew Rochford, Claire and Rosso. Have the previous hosts even left the studio yet?
Catterns Harmer on that failed donkey Vega were the first.
Yeh.. and…?
Are we meant to be interested?
Who cares.
Please…bring back Uncle Doug!
Spare us the jibber jabber of the babbling dames!!
Is it just me or is ‘awesome’ being done to death by people who
have nothing to say!
Gosh I can’t stand their countdown to “how many more sleeps” until we can hear their inane ramblings. Really? Each time I hear their voices I just change the channel.
They can’t be Sydney’s first all-female FM breakfast team because I know Wendy Harmer & Angela Catterns had a stint on ABC Radio.
By only catering for the female demographic, they are cutting out the other half of the population.
The show doesn’t even sound live because the DJ never interacts with the female hosts.
I think the format will change before the year is out.
