Samsung seeks new CMO as Philip Newton steps down

Samsung Electronics has launched the search for a new chief marketing officer after Philip Newton announced he will leave in August.

Newton joined Samsung from Ben Q in 2009 and has held a number of different roles with the electronics giant including business-to-business and director of TV and audio visual.

Samsung  promoted him to the head marketing role in July 2015 and the company has credited him with a significant lifts in sales and driving an important partnership with Netball Australia which asked Australians to ‘Rethink Role Models’.

Newton said working with Samsung had been a career highlight.
