Sarah Jessica Parker: product placement never happened on Sex and the City
Sex and the City star Sarah Jessica Parker said in Cannes today that brands never featured on the show as part of product placement campaigns.
Broadcast from 1998 until 2004, the HBO-produced show ran for 94 episodes.
“It’s important to know that we never put on a shirt because a brand asked us too,” she told journalists during a press conference at Cannes.
The only occasion that the producers of Sex and the City involved a brand was a bag loaned to them by luxury brand Fendi. But “that was part of the story,” she said, adding that she was “not superior to the idea” of product placement.
Find this very hard to believe: she was always smoking Malboros while working on Apple computers (well before Apple was cool).
