SBS On Demand launches on HbbTV

Public service broadcaster SBS has today launched two new initiatives – becoming the first free to air player to offer an HbbTv catchup TV service and launching a competition for film makers.

From today, users with new HbbTV-enabled televisions which are connected to the internet will see a ‘Red Button’ appear on screen when tuning into SBS’s three free-to-air channels – SBS ONE, SBS2 and NITV.

This will allow users to to access the SBS On Demand application and SBS content on the television screen.
