Serena Williams’ win pulls 699,000 metro viewers, handing Nine a Tuesday night win

Serena Williams’ quarter final win against Simona Halep had an average metro audience of 699,000 last night, with the match running from 7:16pm to 8:38pm on Nine. From 9:05pm to 12:35am, Novak Djokovic’s defeat of Alexander Zverev pulled 440,000 metro viewers.

Nationally, the matches jumped to 901,000 and 624,000 viewers, respectively.

The Australian Open topped the 16-39s advertising demographic, but lost out to Ten’s Amazing Race among 18-49s and 25-54s. The Amazing Race sat on 554,000 metro viewers, ahead of Seven’s Holey Moley on 436,000.
