Setanta to show Euro 2012 in Australia

Euro-2012Subscription sports channel Setanta has announced that it has the exclusive live Australian rights to the group matches in next year’s Euro 2012 soccer tournament.

The football championship, which takes place every four years, includes national teams such as Spain, England, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, Greece and France.

Setanta is not included under the standard Foxtel and Austar sports subscriptions, meaning that Setanta will treat the event as a major opportunity to bring in new Australian subscribers.

The tournament, being held in Poland and Ukraine, runs from June to July next year, shortly before the London Olympics.
