Seven axes game show The White Room after two episodes
The Seven Network has axed its new game show The White Room after just two weeks, while its observational documentary ICU will be moved to a new time slot.
The White Room, hosted by Tony Moclair and Julian Schiller, will be replaced by Ghost Whisperer in the Thursday 7:30pm slot.
In its first week, it attracted 812,000 viewers, behind Ten’s The Biggest Loser and Nine’s Getway, according to overnight OzTam data for the five metropolitan markets.
Its second episode saw its average viewers fall to 678,000.
How on earth did this dreadful show get to air in the first place amazes me, did Channel 7 have a focus group of the local kindergarten and play group.
As for ICU how can it hope to get any ratings as a cheap imitation of RPA on WIN.
RPA follows the patients and doctors right from the patients diagnosis to their cure and sometimes death. in my opinion its the ultimate reality show.
All the stations should take a good look at themselves and perhaps look at what they put to air from a viewers point of view.
That’s rubbish. ICU isn’t a cheap immitation. I watched the other day. It’s a shame it can’t run WITH RPA. RPA is slow and as you say, follows the process. ICU concentrates mainly on the ICU, life-saving operations. It’s rock and roll RPA with more interesting story-telling, as tends to happen with Seven reality shows.
Did not watch any of the two eps but I bet they were very average and copied the other “game shows” currently about on the other FTA networks…
What we need, DESPERATELY, is a good Australian sitcom, not unlike The IT Crowd or Big Bang Theory or How I Met Your Mother or classics like Father Ted or Fawlty Towers. How come the British can do it time and time again, but all we can think of between now and Hey Dad, is Kath n’ Kim? Give us some quality Australian Sitcoms with really funny characters, not yet another panel show or crime show.
