Seven dances all the way to a Sunday win

The finale of Dancing with the Stars took Seven to a strong win for Sunday while Ten’s Rove was overtaken once again by an ABC crime show.

1.6 million people tuned in to watch the 2.5 hour Dancing with the Stars finale on Seven last night, where country music star Adam Brand took home the trophy. Brand was joined by Morning Show presenter Kylie Gillies and Today Tonight host Matthew White in the final of the ninth series of the programme.

Following suit from the last two Sundays, Midsomer Murders at 8:30 on the ABC attracted a higher audience (1.2 million) than Ten’s Rove at the same time, according to preliminary results from OzTam. Rove’s audience was down – though only by 7,000 – on last week and was ranked as the 14th most watched show with 777,000.

It was the same story for Australian Idol at 6:30, which was competing against Dancing with the Stars on Seven and Domestic Blitz on Nine which pulled in just over 1 million. Idol fell 109,000 from last week to 883,000.
