Seven easily won the night with its broadcast of The Australian Open men’s semi final clash between Andy Murray and Thomas Berdych which was the most-watched non-new show of the evening with a metro audience of 995,000.

The channel grabbed a winning audience share 26.8 per cent as Nine lagged behind on a share of 20 per cent. Both the ABC and Ten fell below the 10 per cent share mark, with Ten grabbing a share of 9.9 per cent as the ABC settled for a share of 9.4 per cent.

Ten’s share was dragged down by a small audience for its broadcast of the AACTA Awards from 8.30pm, which pulled just 297,000 viewers according to OzTam’s overnight metro ratings.
