Seven narrowly wins Friday night in absence of major sporting events

A Friday night without any big television draw cards gave Seven News the win overall, with just 875,000 metro viewers. With the addition of the regions, the program’s audience climbed to 1.335m.

Last Friday night, the NRL preliminary final between the Canberra Raiders and the South Sydney Rabbitohs gave Nine the win, with 770,000 metro viewers tuning in.

The NRL grand final between the Raiders and the Sydney Roosters will air on Nine this Sunday night.
