Seven pips Nine, as Mother and Son debuts well for ABC

A Current Affair and The Block were the biggest winners in entertainment last night, although it wasn’t quite enough to win the evening for Nine.

Seven’s ratings-topping news coverage, as well as strong showing from The Voice and The Chase, saw the network take 29.6% of market share for the night, compared to Nine’s 28.9%.

ABC managed to come in third, taking 16.7% with ABC News, Hard Quiz, and 7:30 performing well, plus a good showing for the first episode of the new Mother and Son reboot.

Ten fell to fourth, commanding just 16% of viewers for the night.
