Seven set to win first week of official ratings year while Ten and ABC fight for third

Cumulative OzTaAM ratings charting Sunday to Thursday viewing patterns have Seven winning the first week of the official ratings year following another dominant performance last night.

Seven’s now four-night-a-week My Kitchen Rules was once again the top show of the night on Thursday with 1.88m viewers, dwarfing the nearest non-news or current affairs programs. They were soap Home and Away (fifth for the night) and Nine’s The Block: All Stars (seventh) which fell to a series low of 842,000 capital city viewers after passing one million on Sunday night.

In all, six of the top 10 programs were either news or current affairs, shared over the free to air commercial networks and ABC1.

Ten is now lined up to run fourth behind ABC1 for the week, after its schedule failed to attract a broad market, although it has done better in the under-40s market.
