Seven West Media unveils restructure with promotions for Burnette and Chan
Seven West Media has today unveiled its long mooted management restructure.
The announcement sees Kurt Burnette promoted to chief revenue officer while Pacific Magazines boss Nick Chan mores to the role of chief operating officer, replacing Rohan Lund who announced he was departing last month.
Seven CEO Tim Worner said: “Kurt has been enormously successful in creating a culture of innovation within our television sales teams and will now do this across our businesses, leading group sales, data and analytics, Yahoo!7 and our push into Hbb TV and video on demand.”
“Nick has done an outstanding job of managing a publishing business through the structural headwinds and we welcome him taking on this new challenge as he applies his skills and experience on a much broader scale. Nick’s role extends across Seven West Media’s businesses and he will be responsible for our company’s ability to produce our content more efficiently as well as securing greater utility from that content,” he said.
Well done Nick, well deserved
That’s a strong structure by Tim Worner. Stokes would be happy. Worked with Nick Chan for years, he picks talent and runs businesses well. They need to get all their magazine brands into digital audiences as the social platforms like FB are serious threats and they haven’t got online right at all. Kurt Burnette best commercial head in the business. Interesting to see if they can execute on HBBTV.
Seven West really turning it on with Tim in charge. Good team. Look what happens when you put a programmer in charge, they are killing it in the ratings. Kurt Burnette smart dude.
How you going 9??!
Worked with Nick for a long time. No fuss. Straight shooter and strategic.
He will do well.
Never understood why Pacific Mags couldn’t get their digital delivery right though. Strong brands, weak digital presence. Nick Chan has kept the magazine business prospering while Bauer and News Life Media flounder. Be interesting to watch this new phase and where they take it.
Well deserved Kurt Burnette, his hand shake, and word you can take to the bank. Nick a true professional.
