Seven wins the night with news as Nine wins the demos with The Big Bang Theory
News dominated the evening’s viewing last night with the combination of Seven News and Today Tonight at 6.30pm the most watched program, pulling a metro audience of 1.045m, with fellow Seven program Home and Away claiming the most watched non-news show with an audience of 870,000.
The combination helped Seven to a comfortable audience share win with 21 per cent, with Nine taking an audience share of 19.2 per cent as Nine News at 6pm won its timeslot with an audience of 1.001m, ahead of Seven News’ audience of 996,000. Nine News at 6.30pm had an audience of 983,000.
Ten came in third with a share of 12.5 per cent while the ABC sat on a share of 11.7 per cent, according to OzTam’s overnight metro ratings.
Nine’s most watched non-news show was a repeat of The Big Bang Theory at 8pm which grabbed an audience of 787,000 which was also the most watched show across all the demographics. However it was beaten in its timeslot by Seven’s Nabbed which was watched by 812,000. Both shows out-rated the ABC’s repeat of Family Confidential (666,000) and Ten’s repeat of Modern Family (572,000).
