Seven wins 2013 ratings, reality shows and sport dominate most watched

My Kitchen Rules Channel Seven’s big reality franchises My Kitchen Rules and The X Factor trumped the audiences for their Nine rivals The Block Sky High and The Voice to help it secure an average 22.9 per cent share of the audience between January 1 and December 31 of 2013, according to OzTam.

Nine’s audience share was over two per cent less with a 20.7 per cent share of the metro audience, while Channel Ten was the fourth most popular channel averaging an audience share of 11.8 per cent in 2013.

Seven had the most watched program of the year with the winner announcement of reality cooking show My Kitchen Rules averaging 3.27m metro viewers, topping the winner announcement of Channel Nine’s The Block which averaged 3.16m.

Channel Seven and Nine had all of the top 20 programs of the year with Seven winning nine of them with My Kitchen Rules, the AFL Grand Final, The X Factor Final, and The Melbourne Cup, while Nine had the other 11 top shows with The Block Sky High, The State of Origin second game, and The Voice.
