Seven’s animal videos lose audience but still the most watched entertainment show of the night

animals make you laugh out loudVideos of animals doing amusing things outperformed people doing ‘real’ things for a fourth week in a row pulling, with Seven’s latest offering grabbing 841,000 metro viewers last night to be the most watched non-news program of the night.

Animals That Make You Laugh Out Loud was down 102,000 on last week’s Pets that make you laugh out loud and was also below previous specials focusing on Dogs (which drew 1.039m) and Cats (which drew 917,000), suggesting the format is beginning to lose traction with audiences.

Despite having the top non-news program of the night Nine beat Seven in main channel audience share with 19.1 per cent compared to 17.4 per cent.

The result was partially driven by Nine’s news result and reality cooking show The Hotplate which was just behind Animals with 833,000 viewers.
