It had a lead in of 1.167m from The Block: Glasshouse, which airs from 7:30pm, which won the night. However the dip in audience saw Nine only just manage to beat Seven in terms of audience share, with 20.5 per cent against 20.3 per cent. The Block: Glasshouse was the most popular show across all demographics, while Big Brother fell to third place in all the demos.
Criminal Minds on Seven beat Big Brother with an audience of 799,000.
I’m not surprised by the drop – Big Brother this year is boring as batshit. Since it became all sanitised for the earlier timeslot all you get is teary female housemates and macho males trying to show their soft side. We record it and once all the crap is removed (and ads!) it’s easy to watch it in a half hour or so.
Where are the housemates with personality this year? Left behind as mates of mates, brain-dead models and others who the casting director thought wouldn’t cause any controversy made their way into the house.
I can see another 50% drop in viewers in another week or so if SOMETHING doesn’t happen. Maybe nine could put a wet paint wall on screen so we could watch it dry?
There was a greater variety of the human species at Lewisham Train Station this morning than there was on Big Brother last night.
In fact nearly all the members that are in the Big Brother household this year look like they are from the same family.
Ho hum.
What a shame for Bogun Brother. Maybe nine could dig up Popstars, and get Doug Mulray to host.
BB would be easy to get right, I don’t know why Nine are being so stupid about it. The success of the show completely relies on the cast. If they put a few intelligent people in there and they start having real discussions about real issues it could be interesting, they need some Chrissie’s and Tim’s. It needs to be more about the social experiment of confining a group of people in a house and less about are the young hot people going to hook up.
