Seven’s first night of Australian Open coverage pulls 589,000 but beaten by Big Bash

Despite Seven’s opening night of the Australian Open featuring Nick Kyrgios, Daria Gavrilova and Rafael Nadal, the event was overshadowed by Ten’s Big Bash League match between the Brisbane Heat and the Hobart Hurricanes.

The first night of the tennis tournament saw Australians Kygrios and Gavrilova progress to the next round. It ran across Seven, 7mate, 7two and the 7tennis app, averaged 589,000 across the network last night.
