Seven’s Revenge a hit with 2m
Seven’s new thriller series Revenge made a strong debut on Monday night, rating with over 2m across the five city metro, according to preliminary results from OzTam.
The heavily promoted US show, about a girl seeking revenge for the false imprisonment of her father, knocked Seven’s other hit My Kitchen Rules from the top of the ratings for the first time this year.
This show is AWESOME. Totally addicted 🙂
Great show, yes. However, half of Sydney (and I dare say most of the metro caps) has already downloaded eps 1 – 15.
Piracy 1-0-1.
Love to know if this is the biggest American drama debut on Australian TV? Or the biggest since the days of Desperate Housewives debut?
Such a great show.
@Max Episode 15 hasn’t even aired in the US – so I am nto sure how half of Sydney has downloaded it.
I’m with you Max. iTunes/Apple TV comes in very handy with new shows from the US.
@hmmm – apologies typo. I meant eps 1-14. My condolences to Network 7 and Disney owned ABC America.
I’m with Max. Don’t even need iTunes for it. Love the show – especially watching each episode on the day of release.
@Max. If half of Sydney have already got it then maybe word of mouth helped kick it off to what is ratings gold for Seven last night. The strategy has worked before. Is that the piracy 1-0-1 you mention? Arggghhhh!
I don’t know a single person who hasn’t already seen episode 14 of Revenge or 6 of Alcatraz. Nevermind who is waiting for Season 2 of Homeland.
What ever happened to fast track? I thought that the networks realised people were not wanting to wait 3 months for US content so they would air it closer to the date. I kind of get it for sitcoms or shows that dont have a story but something like Revenge or Homeland where you want to know what happens next, it just doesnt make sense.
I am not a dowloader but i did go and read what happens in the last few eps of Homeland.
Not really that popular a torrent compared to shows like Walking Dead and Spartacus.
Pretty mediocre show too.
