Sharknado gets Australian airdate
Australian TV viewers will get to see cult sci-fi Sharknado in September.
The TV movie aired on the SyFy channel in the US late last week and caused a near meltdown of social media.
According to an announcement from NBC Universal, the movie will air on its subscription TV Universal Channel on Monday September 9.
The plot of the film sees a violent storm cause sharks to rain down. Actors include Tara Reid
Yeah, because people are going to wait that long to watch such a talked about film like this…
Tara Reid is an actor ? #OkThen
September? They must be joking.
I cant wait this looks AWESOME!!!
Seriously… People actually want to see this? Wow!
So bad, yet so good…!!! Looks great…
Don’t watch the movie. It’ll just ruin a great concept!
I bet a porn version called ‘Dicknado’ won’t be far behind.
This is what passes for sci-fi now in the US. Thank you NBC conglomerate. You’re welcome, Australia.
And yet Australian television producers are still like:
“I just don’t understand why people keep downloading content!”
September? What, they need to ship the reel by sail boat?
I mean honestly. Not even the time factor – this isn’t a cult classic, its a 2 hour long viral video.
By September, it will be forgotten, and it wouldn’t rate naturally – even IF the targetted audience hadn’t already seen it by downloading.
Damn.
Was hoping a local distributor would pick it up.
And give it a limited release.
Really wanna see it on the BIG screen!
