Shopper Marketing Live to launch in Sydney
A conference and exhibition will launch in Sydney next year focused on shopper marketing.
The announcement:
Marketing at retail has a shiny, new home in Australia, with the announcement that Shopper Marketing LIVE will be held at the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre, next May.
Devoted exclusively to the growing focus of shopper marketing, the three-day international conference and exhibition will provide the Australian retail marketing community with a major forum to share information, lessons-learned and new perspectives from the new era of retail marketing.
Hey Tim;
you promote/post some conferences to this blog as “news”, and don’t mention others, or send them off to the events section. Is there a science to this editorial decision making or is it like my Melbourne Cup betting – completely random?
Best
Glen
Hi Glen,
As a man who organsies events for the PR biz, I’m surprised you have to ask… but to answer your question, it tends to be a news judgement depending on what’s going on, on the day. A brand new event will stand a better chance of getting coverage than an existing one, for instance.
Another is the track records of those involved. So for instance, because Mark Harvey has organised some successful events, when the release arrived, it was worth doing as an FYI item for that reason (it didn’t actually make our main news section though.)
I suspect you’re asking the question because I haven’t written about the Sydney Bloggers Festival, which you’re organising.
There is one other factor if you want coverage – you have to remember to tell me at the time you’re launching it. I don’t think you did so.
Cheers,
Tim – Mumbrella.
