Ten announced the resignation of McKenna from the board this morning, with the statement noting McKenna’s nominating shareholder Illyria – an investment company founded by Lachlan Murdoch through which he also owns Nova Entertainment – did not propose to nominate a replacement for the time being.

According to the News Corp announcement, McKenna will provide strategic oversight of the company’s broadcast assets – Fox Sports, Sky News and its 50% stake in Foxtel – and will work with Foxtel CEO Peter Tonagh, Fox Sports CEO Patrick Delany and CEO of Sky News Angelos Frangopoulos.
