The Slap to be re-made for US audience on NBC

Critically acclaimed Australian TV series The Slap will be remade for the US network NBC with a script by Jon Robin Baitz, writer of The West Wing and creator of the drama series Brothers and Sisters.
The series will follow the format of the eight-part drama series based on Christos Tsiolkas’s best-selling novel of the same name, with each episode telling the story from a different perspective.
Matchbox Pictures and ABC TV made the original series shown on ABC1 in October 2011, starring Alex Dimitriades, Sophie Lowe and Melissa George as well as British actress Sophie Okonedo.
