SMH to publish NSW events calender
The SMH will publish a NSW events “Super Panorama” 2011 calendar with is paper tomorrow – what it claims is the largest print execution in the world.
The announcement:
December 3, 2010: Readers of The Sydney Morning Herald will be treated to the largest print execution in the world on Saturday December 4 when the newspaper publishes a “Super Panorama” 2011 calendar for Events NSW.
Covering the equivalent of a massive eight broadsheet pages, the calendar is a showcase for the array of events happening in Sydney and NSW during 2011, and marks the first time Events NSW has used the Super Panorama format to promote its annual line-up.
Fairfax Media Director, Trade Marketing & Insights, Elizabeth Ross, said: “This is the biggest calendar ever seen in print in Australia, and Fairfax is the only publisher in Australia capable of delivering such a large execution.
“We’re confident our readers will be amazed at the impact of the Events NSW 2011 Super Panorama, and we’re delighted to be able to deliver the NSW Government something as powerful and memorable as this calendar.”
Events NSW CEO Geoff Parmenter said the NSW Government, through Events NSW, needed to communicate how the NSW Events Calendar had grown and come of age, and how big it now is with over 80 events exclusive to Sydney and NSW.
“The Super Panorama is a terrific way to reflect this message, its sheer size and scale gave us the opportunity to present the 2011 NSW Events Calendar to Sydney Morning Herald weekend readers in a way we’ve never done before. It has taken the promotion of the calendar to a new level,” Mr Parmenter said.
“The creative produced by Ogilvy as part of the ’It’s On’ events marketing campaign is bold and vibrant like Sydney and our world class program of events.”
The Super Panorama is another printing initiative from the Fairfax 360 team, who continue to push the boundaries of print innovation, and is just one of a long list of creative executions that Fairfax Media have produced over the past few years.
