Stan announces new offline offering for subscribers
Stan is set to roll out content downloads which will allow subscribers to watch programs offline – a move which comes after Netflix launched a similar offering late last year.
From March, the Stan mobile app for iOS and Android will allow subscribers to download both TV series and movies to watch later when they don’t have an internet connection, including TV programs from the services’ new partner, Cartoon Network.
Competitors in the streaming market, including Netflix and Amazon Prime, already allow users to download content. Netflix launched its offline viewing offering late last year just before Amazon Prime launched in December 2016, with the offline feature included.
