Stan announces new shows but fails to secure The Grand Tour

Streaming service Stan has secured the exclusive rights to US shows Preacher and Underground as well as the full series of Seinfeld, however it is understood it will not be showing highly-anticipated Amazon series The Grand Tour.

While Stan has secured rights to other Amazon original shows including Transparent and Mozart in the Jungle, the US giant is understood to be closely guarding the new car show starring the former hosts of Top Gear, which will begin airing globally from next week.

That move increases speculation in market that Amazon will launch a version of its streaming service locally in the next few weeks or a pay-per download strategy, or risk triggering a wave of piracy from people eager to see the new show.
