State Funeral of HM Queen Elizabeth II draws in audiences for Seven, Nine and ABC
The State Funeral of HM Queen Elizabeth II aired at 8pm on Seven last night and pulled in a metro audience of 975,000, while 879,000 metro viewers tune in on Nine, and 708,000 metro viewers for the ABC.
The State Funeral for Her Majesty The Queen took place at Westminster Abbey on Monday 19th September at 11am (GMT+1).
The Funeral Service and the associated ceremonial arrangements paid tribute to The Queen’s extraordinary reign, and Her Majesty’s remarkable life of service as Head of State, Nation and Commonwealth.
Seven’s coverage topped overall TV viewing on Monday night, while also winning key advertising demos 16-39s and 18-49s, followed by Nine’s coverage which won demos, 25-54s.
ABC, Seven, Nine, SBS and 10 BOLD screened Live coverage of the State Funeral of Her Majesty The Queen on Monday.
Following on from last night’s coverage, this evening a Private Burial will take place in The King George VI Memorial Chapel at Windsor. The Queen will be Laid to Rest with her late husband The Duke of Edinburgh, alongside her father King George VI, mother Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother and sister Princess Margaret.
Seven won the night, taking an overall network share of 30.2% over Nine’s 27.7%, while ABC had a share of 27.6, and Ten took an 8.8% share.
Seven also won the primary channel share, and the top-rating multi-channel on Monday was 10 BOLD on 2.2%.
Outside of the Queens funeral coverage, Seven News at 6:30 had the highest TV viewing overall, with a metro audience of 909,000, followed by Nine News at 6:30 with 833,000 metro viewers. Seven News brought in 823,000 metro viewers, followed by Nine News with 746,000 viewers.
Following that, ABC News saw 528,000 metro viewers tune in, and 10 News First had 247,000 metro viewers.
In the latest Daily Consolidated Total TV Report for 12 September, Seven News at 6:30 was the #1 program nationally across linear, with 1.569 million viewers, including 46,000 on BVOD, and an uplift of 3%. The biggest uplift of the week was an episode of The Amazing Race Australia on Ten with an uplift of 37% and aired to a total audience of 653,000, and a total BVOD audience of 77,000.
