Summer box office numbers up 27% on last year, as cinema sees 10.5m admissions

Val Morgan has reported that the summer holiday period brought in 10.55 million admissions in Australian cinema, with box office numbers up 27% on the same time last year.

The period, from December 15 to January 29, was likely bolstered by the school break, with 45% of all admissions falling inti the 14 to 39 demographic.
