Switch from Doyle to Armytage helps deliver Sunrise ratings win for first month

Pell: ‘Critics predicted Armageddon’
The first month of ratings appears to have vindicated Seven’s decision to replace long serving Sunrise co-host Melissa Doyle with Weekend Sunrise presenter Samantha Armytage.
Armytage took the helm of the show a month ago at a time when Nine’s Today was threatening to take the ratings lead. However, Sunrise appears to have won itself some ratings breathing space since the switch.
At the time of writing, Sunrise has beaten the Nine rival on all but one occasion in total audience across the five capital cities. And crucially, Sunrise has improved its performance in Melbourne, where Today often beat the Seven show.
Good on ye Sam
Who will be taking over Sam’s position on
Weekend Sunrise. I actually watch Today in 9 on week days
but watch Sunrise on the weekend because Andrew,
Sam, Jess & Simon – thought they had a great chemistry!
It can’t be Monquie because she fronts the daily edition?!
I love Armytage absolutely refreshing to watch unlike Doyle who was fake and put on an act of being sweet Love and appreciate real people good move making the change. Although Kochie isn’t always sensitive and tactful appreciate his honesty wisdom and ability to apologise if and when offends. A real role model
The station’s decision to bone Doyle from Sunrise was proven correct.
Just think of the ratings increase if they got rid of Kochie.
