Sunrise wins the first week in breakfast TV as 299,000 metro viewers tune in on Friday morning
To round out the first week of the breakfast ratings war, Seven’s Sunrise has come out on top on Friday with 299,000 metro viewers and 485,000 when combined with regional viewers.
Today’s Friday performance saw 202,000 metro viewers and 297,000 nationally.

Amongst the capital cities, Melbourne hosted the closest gap between the breakfast programs. 54,000 viewers tuned into Today and 65,000 tuned into Sunrise. The largest gap occurred in Brisbane with 71,000 viewers for Sunrise and 40,000 viewers for Today.
Think week 1 in early jan to early to make a call on where the battle may settle in 6 months, but given the promos 9 ran, coming back 2 days earlier and viewing levels higher than normal holiday break with viewers following the catastrophic bushfires , think deep down 9 would have hoped for more. Karl still wearing the same suit he has worn for years he has publicly boasted about? My $ are on sunrise to continue winning and current 9 lineup won’t last calendar 2020.
