Superhero film Bloodshot opens at the top of the box office with $1.4m

The Vin Diesel-fronted superhero film, Bloodshot, has debuted at the top of the Australian box office over the weekend, taking in $1.4m across 346 screens.

The film is based on the Valiant Comics character of the same name, and is intended to be the first in a series of films which will take place in a shared cinematic universe.

Bloodshot is the first in what is planned to be a Valiant Comics cinematic universe

Coming in second after two weekends at the top of the box office was psychological horror film, The Invisible Man. Experiencing a drop of 51% on the previous week, the film earned $1.08m from 273 screens.
