Sussan and BCNA celebrate 20-year partnership supporting Australians affected by breast cancer

The long-standing collaboration between Breast Cancer Network Australia and Sussan has resulted in $3.3 million being raised, and driven major impact in care, policy, and advocacy across Australia.

The announcement:

This year marks 20 years since Sussan and Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA) joined forces in one of the country’s most enduring charity partnerships.

Since 2005, Sussan has raised an incredible $3.3 million, ensuring BCNA can deliver on its purpose to support those affected by breast cancer. The partnership has enabled BCNA to influence national health policy, fund critical services and amplify the voices of women diagnosed with breast cancer.

Natalie Aardoom, managing director of Sussan, says the partnership has always been about more than fundraising.

“This is a 20-year commitment to showing up for women when it matters most,” she says. “We’ve worked alongside BCNA to ensure women not only feel seen, heard and supported throughout their breast cancer journey but that their experiences lead to stronger policy, better care and more accessible support.”

“This partnership is deeply personal to our teams, customers and the thousands of women it’s reached. It’s something we’re incredibly proud of.”

Over the past 20 years, the partnership has supported some of BCNA’s most significant initiatives, including:

  • Funding over 300 BCNA Community Liaisons across Australia
  • Helping deliver tailored support to 18,000+ users of My Journey
  • Supporting training for over 80 women to advocate at national health and policy levels
  • Donating 1,000+ pairs of Australian cotton pyjamas to women attending BCNA forums
  • Helping reach 30,000+ Australians through the Work & Breast Cancer Hub
  • Advocating for underrepresented communities, including First Nations Australians, LGBTQI+ people, rural and remote communities, those with metastatic breast cancer, younger women and men

Kirsten Pilatti, CEO of Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA), says this partnership has helped reshape the breast cancer experience in Australia.

“There are very few charities who can boast a very real and genuine partnership like the one we have with Sussan,” she says.

“Our partnership has created real change for those affected by breast cancer. Over 20 years Sussan has helped us to inform, support, connect and be the voice for hundreds and thousands of Australians. We could not be prouder of what we have achieved together.”

Ahead of Mother’s Day, Sussan is proud to release their latest BCNA Pink for Good capsule collection.

The limited-edition collection features floral bamboo pyjama sets, soft pink floral gowns, 100% Australian cotton ‘Mini-Me’ pyjamas, and plush pink snuggle socks—with proceeds from every sale supporting BCNA’s vital work for women affected by breast cancer.

Looking ahead, Sussan remains committed to advancing care and connection, including funding the redevelopment of BCNA’s Online Network, advocating for a smarter, risk-based approach to screening and helping drive a national campaign to elevate the voices of Australians living with metastatic breast cancer.
