Sydney Attractions Group seeks PR agency
Sydney Attractions Group, which owns the Sydney Aquarium and is soon to open Madame Tussauds, is looking for a PR agency following its acquisition by UK-based Merlin Entertainments.
Agencies have until 4.30pm, Monday 14 March to confirm their interest by submitting a list of current clients, key services offered, relevant case studies and an idea for one of SAG’s attractions.
Marketing communications manager Neema Shah told Mumbrella that the group wanted to take a more strategic approach to marketing than previously, and that PR would be a “huge focus” this year.
“We have been local, event-based and tactical in our approach to date. However, following the buy-out, we want to be more strategic in our use of PR, which is the biggest part of our marketing budget,” she said.
“We are looking for an agency big on creativity that can take our brands to the next level.”
Shah said a decision on an appointment should be made by mid-April. She can be contacted at nshah@sydneyattractions.com.au.
Someone who can walk on water, turn water into wine, and feed multitudes with fishes might be able to make those two sad venues look good but I wouldn’t go in on a success fee myself.
Our kids bloody love that place. A lick of paint coupled with some thought on the PR front = easy kudos. Plenty of PR mileage to be gained there. Think they own Melbourne Aquarium too so it’s a case of copy and paste.
They don’t own Melbourne Aquarium so it’s not a matter of copy and paste. Never mind the fact the products are very different.
