Sydney radio ratings: KIIS FM takes breakfast and drive crown; Nine’s Fordham remains market leader
KIIS FM’s Kyle & Jackie O has taken the top spot in FM breakfast radio, however, Nine’s Ben Fordham has kept the title of #1 breakfast show, and 2GB overall in Sydney, even despite losing listeners in the fourth radio ratings survey of 2022. See survey three results here.
Kyle & Jackie O saw a growth of 0.9 points to a 13.3% share, while, KIIS FM in People 10+ also gained in audience share from 9.2% to 10.2%, a bump of 1 percentage point.
In breakfast, while Nine’s Fordham topped this book, the show saw a slight decline in audience share, dropping 0.2 percentage points from 15.7% to 15.5%. Overall, in People 10+ 2GB also saw a slight drop in listeners, bumping down by 0.1 percentage point to 12.9%. This is 2GB’s 142nd consecutive survey win.
Why is radio the only media platform to quote percentage share? Surely an advertiser wants to know how many people are listening – like with TV, digital, print etc? How many actually listen to Kyle & Jackie O and Ben Fordham?
Radio is not the only media platform to quote a percentage. We cover TV every day and provide the industry with the network share from each night. Every Monday we also share the network share breakdown from the week in our TV wrap. Print is covered off in the release of total news readership figures produced by Roy Morgan for Think News Brands.
How many bumps can you have in one article?
As many as we need/want to show what’s gone up and what’s gone down.
